Online storage company Dropbox reaches 100 million users

There are plenty of places you can go to get some free online storage, which is nice when you have a mobile device that has limited internal memory like the Google Nexus 7 or the Apple iPad.  Google Drive is one option for those looking for online storage and since the site has launched, Dropbox has stepped up their game and has recently announced 100 million users.  According to the Google Drive website, users will start with 5GB of free storage, can sync files from their computer, access on the go with the dedicated mobile app and can create, share and manage all of the files stored there.

According to some online reviews Dropbox allows you to sync files with little effort, offers a wide variety of app for all operating systems and has very dependable servers.

As a freemium service DropBox brings a couple different price options for users starting with the Basic which gives you just 2GB of storage at no cost.  If you have a bunch of friends you can actually earn more storage with the use of the referral system, which will get you an additional 16GB at the most at 500MB per referral.  If you need a lot more space you can get 100GB of $99 per year, 200GB of $199 per year or 500GB of storage for just $499 per year.  DropBox also offers an option for small businesses and that plan starts at $795 per year for 1TB of online storage for up to five users.
