Amazon's Glacier Cloud Service Puts Data in the Storage Deep Freeze - NetworkComputing.com


Glacier provides storage as a service in a public cloud for the long-term preservation of data--the vast majority of which should never need to be retrieved. AWS' use of powerful 256-bit encryption protects the confidentiality of the data. It's the same technology used in its S3 offering, and indicates that Amazon is using one of the data protection techniques that can be used with object storage.
